Jose V SanchezJose Vicente Sánchez Albertos started to study music theory when he was 8 years old. He always wanted to play oboe and he was awarded his music degree majoring in Oboe in 2004. Since 1995 he is the oboe soloist for S.C.D. Carolinas and L’Harmonia Societat Musical d’Alacant.. Jose studied Oboe player with Juan Bautista Osorio, Jesús Meliá and conducting with Francisco Amaya and Rafael Sanz-Espert.
Jose also trained as a music teacher at Alicante University and he is currently teaching within the Spanish education system.
Jose has followed a number of professional development courses including: music for hearing impaired children, IT music and choral music in school
In 2001 Alicante Council appointed him as a conductor and choral trainer. He remained in that position until 2011. In 2006 Jose founded The Contrapunctum Chamber Choir which he also conducts. With this choir he has directed concerts, including “Victoria Sacra”, music from Tomás Luis de Victoria celebrating the four hundredth anniversary of his death (2011).
In recent years Jose has studied musicology at La Rioja University, and he is an expert in Early Music, specially Choral Music, and he attended the 18th International Congress of International Musicological Society 2007 in Zürich. Recently Jose has been researching the music of Henry Purcell.
